Dr. Shapiro’s memoir, Piglet, the unexpected story of a deaf blind pink puppy and his family, published in August 2021, is an authentic feel-good story about resilience, compassion, and kindness. Of course, the focus is Piglet's rescue and rise to become an ambassador for disabled animals and people, as well as an inspirational teaching model for growth mindset and inclusion. But the story is also sprinkled with vet medicine, animal rescue, dog training, parenting, and lots of light-hearted humor. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. PIGLET is a memoir for teens and adults but parents and young children enjoy reading the book together!

Piglet is a tiny deaf blind dog who lives a life of positivity. He is a pure example of a growth mindset, which in Piglet’s world is called a Piglet Mindset. Through his social media pages and his Piglet Mindset educational outreach program, he inspires children and adults around the world to face their own challenges with a positive attitude. Piglet and his pack of 6 rescued dogs set an example for acceptance, inclusion, empathy, and kindness, and they also advocate and fundraise for special needs dogs and other pets. PIGLET COMES HOME
We are very excited to announce that our first children’s book, PIGLET COMES HOME, was published on June 7, 2022. While it is labeled for ages 4-8, children of ALL ages LOVE this sweet fictionalized story about Piglet’s rescue and finding his forever family. The illustrations are awesome. Children and adults enjoy reading this book over and over! Piglet Comes Home is the perfect gift for children's birthdays, baby showers, and for Piglet fans all over the world. It is destined to become an all time favorite to be passed along from generation to generation!
